all things are lawful for me but not all things are expedient – that’s deliverance in itself. that i can doesn’t mean i should. the critical faculty dimension of wisdom is a prerequisite for exercising liberties, you have to be shrewd enough to say no to good things. refusing to indulge in temptations is cool but there’s a higher realm of mental aikido. dumping a good choice for a greater one, a smart move for the best move. you need it in every realm of human endeavor.
